Stop Smoking Easily With Hypnosis

One of the most common reasons that people consult a Hypnotherapist is to stop smoking. To pack up the habit on your own takes a lot of willpower which comes from the Conscious Mind and people often find sustaining this willpower difficult at best and impossible at worst…

free yourself from a smoking addiction

Because Hypnosis works with your Unconscious Mind – where your habits live – the majority of smokers are able to successfully stop smoking easily and more importantly, remain a non-smoker.

First things first, though. It’s crucial that you actually want to stop smoking; many people approach me for my help, saying “I’ve got to give up smoking”. At that point, I need to drill down and find out exactly what “got to” means; is it that they’ve been told by a medical professional or partner however don’t actually want to, or is it that they really have the desire to be a non-smoker? On a scale of 10, what is their level of commitment to stopping the habit? As you’ll have seen from my earlier blog posts in this series covering the subject, Hypnosis cannot “make” you do something that you don’t want to do. If a client cannot convince me that they really want to kick the habit then I won’t work with them. However, if you’ve got a clear desire to stop smoking now, then you’re in the right place!

Packing up the weed should be simple and straightforward and it’s important that you see it this way. I understand that nicotine is perceived to be a difficult substance to go without when giving up smoking, however after a few days it is out of your system and most smokers agree that quitting smoking for a few days is difficult but very achievable. With the assistance of Hypnosis, becoming a non-smoker is much easier than battling alone or using other nicotine replacements.

A smoking cessation Hypnosis session will involve a lot of questions and answers so that the Hypnotherapist can get a good insight into you as an individual and formulate an effective script – or intervention – to work with. A client will be relaxed deeply and then the Hypnotherapist will work with the Unconscious Mind to embed suggestions relative to a new way of thinking, feeling and behaving towards tobacco. Most Hypnotherapists will give the client a recording of the session to take away and use daily in order to strengthen the work done in person. Generally one session is sufficient, though professionals work differently depending upon their school of thought. Whatever happens, there’s every reason to believe that you can walk into a session as a smoker and leave as a non-smoker – if that’s what you desire.

A meta-analysis, statistically combining results of more than 600 studies of 72,000 people from America and Europe to compare various methods of quitting. On average, hypnosis was over three times as effective as nicotine replacement methods and 15 times as effective as trying to quit alone. By now you’re probably building a picture of how easy it is to stop smoking with the assistance of Hypnosis; the only question left to ask yourself is whether you actually want to be free from the addiction? And then perhaps consider what you will do with money you save? How will it feel to be a non-smoker? Won’t it be great to aim for positive outcomes such as good health, fitness, and energy and be rid of that ashtray aroma which exudes from your pores and clothing wherever you go? However, it’s a life choice and it’s one that if you’re a smoker, only you – and you alone – can make!
